Haircut + FOTD + Festival of Trees

I've already announced it on Instagram & Twitter.. Yes, I finally chopped off the beauty that was once my long hair.. A whole 6-7 inches.. All gone.. I was pretty sad & depressed about it at first, but it has grown on me! I'm actually really loving it now. I cried the first night.. Yes, I cried. I haven't cut my hair this short in about 7 years, so it was kind of an emotional moment. I know it sounds stupid, but it felt like a big part of me of gone! Haha, I know there's bigger issues out there like starving people or if Casey Anthony is really innocent or not, but this was my crisis for about a few hours. Let me be! LOL.

Why did I all of a sudden do it? Well, actually, I had scheduled an appointment with the only guy person I'll ever let touch my hair, but was thinking I could save the extra $50 for Christmas shopping instead. I had mixed feelings about whether I should cut it this short. About 50% of my friends were telling me NO and I'll regret it. The other 50% were telling me take a chance, it's only hair and will grow back.

My final decision came when I was taking a shower and noticed my chest was all itchy. I look down and see my chest covered  in specks of hair! My hair was breaking nonstop so bad because of all the damage I've done to it. At this rate, all the breakage and split ends would reach my scalp by summer (I might be exaggerating a little). But still. I took matters into my own hands. I used a sharp pair of scissors and my cheap hair razor and gave myself some short layers. It's not the best work, but I think it's quite good considering I cannot see behind my own head. My hair feels lighter, super silky, and healthy! I can't even spot any split ends or breaking points anymore! :D And NO falls outs or hair loss when showering! And at least now, it will grow out nice and healthy. What do you think?

Festival of Trees
So babe had tickets to something called "Festival of Trees" and we decided to go since this will probably be the only public festive event we will get to go to this year. We went with a couple of our friends and their two kiddos. It felt like such a sweet family day! It wasn't what I expected, but still quite nice. I was expecting something like an outdoor park and all the trees are all lit up. This was done indoors of a convention center in downtown. They had little games and decorations set up before entering for the kids to play, meet Santa, and take pictures.

Once you inside, you see a humongous room with decked out in themes trees all along the walls and the center of the room is filled with tables and chairs and a live choir singing Christmas songs. I have no idea how many trees/ themes there were, but there sure was a LOT. I decided to only take some pics of my favorites instead of all of them. Each tree area had a specific theme that is sponsored by a well known company. I guess this event was a charity to raise money to a children's hospital.

You bid on the theme you want and the highest bidder will get the everything item, including the tree, decorations, and whatever more prizes that is offered for that specific theme. For example, The Tiffany & Co.'s theme offers you everything you see in the picture, plus a diamond Tiara, gift bags filled with jewelry and accessories and a gift certificate to Tiffany's for $1500! Crazy, right?! EVERY theme offers such amazing stuff. One even included a big ass boat!

Happy Holidays from Matt, Baby Ethan (inside my tummy), and I!
They had a Candy/ Cupcake themed tree area!
"Indulge in Pink"
They even had a "New Baby" theme! So cute!
My favorite theme! Come on.. What girl love Tiffany's?!

We ended the day with the usual Sunday family dinner at the in-laws and movie time at home. :) Is anyone else doing anything festive before Christmas? I'm loving all these pretty lights and decorations everywhere, but hating how I'm getting broker and broker by the week! AHHH!

Hair will grow =D Actually I cried too when I was younger because I chopped off all my hair because I got a bad grade on my math test, it was punishment to myelf but luckily I never did that again because I would be bald by now LOL Math is my worse subject!

  8. Oh, cozy pictures! I saw something really cute in a swedish magazine; you just by a fake tree (well, a real tree works too I suppose) and a few meters of some pretty ribbon, and then you tie cute bows on the trees branches.(Hmm, is that the right word? I'm no good at english tree-words. xD) It turned out really kawaii, and cheap. Just bows all over the tree.

  18. What's funny is that the Christmas tree in our home is covered in bows! I did it a couple years ago and it's always stuck with me. It's just so pretty! I think bows make anything look simple yet gorgeous! :D
